Platyspondyly

-multiple flattened vertebral bodies
-if there's only one flattened vertebral body = vertebra plana
-congenital platyspondyly
>thanatophoric dysplasia
>metatropic dwarfism
>OI IIA
-develops later in childhood
>Morquio's disease
>spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia tarda
>Kniests dysplasia

Differential diagnosis includes Histocytosis X, Gauchers disease, Ewings Sarcoma, dysosteosclerosis. If diffuse - dwarfism, OI, Morquios, epiphyseal dysplasia, Cushing's; solitary or multifocal EG, TB, trauma, mets, myeloma, lymphoma, leukemia, SCD, osteonecrosis (with vacuum disc phenomenon).
